Nathan’s Farewell

Donation protected
My name is Prue and I’m the owner of Lady and the Hair. On Friday the 28th October one of my team members 18 year old Chelsea didn’t show up for work which is completely out of character.

So I grabbed my phone to call her and I was met with the following messages

Call me asap
My brothers heart has stopped beating and his not breathing
I had to call 000
Mums not here yet

My eyes still fill with tears when I read this

I called Chelsea’s and spoke with her a few times. The ambulance had taken Nathan to the hospital and the other ambulance officers were waiting with her till Helen who is Chelsea and Nathan’s mum arrived home from work. They were then taken to the children’s hospital.

Nathan was only 16 years old and sadly Nathan passed away at the hospital.

We still don’t know the cause of Nathan’s death at the moment. All we do know is that he woke up and was perfectly fine and then at 8am he said he had a pain in his back. Chels went to grab him a glass of water and as she turned her back he collapsed. His heart stopped beating and he wasn’t breathing.

Medical professionals worked on him for 2 and half hours and sadly he couldn’t be saved.

Life truly isn’t fair sometimes and it’s true when they say bad things happen to good people. Helen Chelsea and Nathan are just that! Good hard working people!!

Over the past two years I have watched as they have endured other personal struggles that have been very difficult emotionally and financially. I always admired how they stuck together as a family to get through them.

They were really starting to see the rainbow after the storm and now they have been struck with this unimaginable loss… it’s not fair

I am hoping that as a community we can band together for these beautiful people and raise some money to help pay for Nathan’s funeral. As we all know the cost of a funeral can be quite substantial and we all would like Nathan to have the farewell he deserves.

Hopefully to also provide Helen and Chelsea the freedom and flexibility to take the time they need to get back on their feet again.

If you are in a position to be able to donate today it would honestly mean the world to us to help support Helen and Chels as much as we can.

Nathan was such a great kid! The kind of kid that loved school and was never in any trouble. He never complained about anything just a really kind kid with a big heart.

Nathan was following in the footsteps of his Mum and sister and was a hard worker too. He had just started his first job at Kmart melton and in his spear time loved playing PS5, iPad and all things history.

Nathan will be sadly missed by all who knew him ♥️
