Hello,

My name is Christopher Barry I am a transgender man who is needing to get top surgery (double mastectomy). After my most recent doctor's appointment, they found that I have damaged my ribs and spine through the years of binding my chest. I have been living as a man since 2017 and have been on hormone replacement therapy since 2020. Since coming out and living as myself my happiness and confidence have profoundly improved. I have been able to be a functioning member of society and live my life. Something I never thought I would be able to do. Although my life has improved significantly I still face struggles every day because of the need to bind my chest. I am in constant pain and discomfort and although being on hormones has elevated my gender dysphoria, my chest has become the main source of my discomfort. Not wearing a binder is not an option for me as it causes my dysphoria to become so extreme I cannot even leave my bedroom. I desperately need this surgery as I cannot keep binding my chest for much longer so I have turned to making this go-fund-me account in hopes that I will soon be able to finally breathe freely.
