Help Jax get the vet care he needs
Donation protected
3/6 update: We brought Jax to a new vet suggested by the community. We got some more tests and pray that they find the root cause and get him on the right treatment plan. Results won’t be available until Tuesday and we are unable to bring Jax home since he is considered “critical condition.” This visit is quoted at another $10k and we are struggling to afford to keep him there till Tuesday. We don’t want to give up due to funds and then receive results Tuesday with possible solutions we could have done. The last thing we want is to put Jax down because we couldn’t afford his hospital stays. We are extremely thankful for the kind words and acts shared by our friends, family and community and we are hoping to continue the trend to save Jax’s life. If you could please share, say a prayer, or even contribute if you feel so inclined, we would appreciate it beyond expression. Thank you so much for your time, it means the world to us.

We are running out of options and turning to our community of family, friends and fellow pet owners who understand the love we have for our sweet pointer babies:
Our 6-year old GSP Jax unfortunately drank some water from a stream on a hike this past weekend and it has taken a significant toll on his health. We took him into the vet on Sunday night and after 40 hours of hospitalization, x-rays, blood tests, stool sample, IV fluids and medication, and a $5,000 medical bill, we haven’t been able to pin point the cause, the only concrete information is that his spleen was inflamed and there are more tests to run. We had to make the tough decision to bring him home with medication and a modified diet after he showed some signs of improvement including small food intake, reduced fever, and an increased white blood cell count, but unfortunately, his condition has reverted back to more of the same (food aversion, lethargy, no stool, etc.) and we can’t give him his antibiotics unless he eats. We aren’t going to give up and are certainly not ready to say goodbye so soon.
