On Dec 12th, Kenny lost his battle against Covid.
For all who knew him, he was the big laughter that filled any room. He was the guy you called if you needed someone to back you up. And yet, he was the largest teddy bear with the biggest heart and would do anything for his family and friends. And for most of us, his friends were also his family.
Kenny loved the automotive world. He loved football, especially the Miami Hurricanes. He liked riding his four wheelers and he grew up in skating rinks and on dirt bikes. He liked taking naps almost everywhere he sat down. He loved good food, especially BBQ. He loved being out on the water with his friends. And the past few years, Kenny was enjoying traveling all across the country while driving big trucks. He had been going to church with the ladies in his life and would encourage people to pray even though not many knew about that part of him.
Kenny was a "good ol' boy" who got along with everyone. He called things like he saw them and sometimes, it would get people mad at him - but if you really knew him, you knew he loved people as they were until there was trouble. And even though he could lose his patience and his temper easily, he found a way to make it back to a great big grin that would make everything good again. We are all going to miss that laugh.
Today, he is with his mom, his grandma and his aunt. He left behind his wife, Layla, his best friends, his uncle, his dad and their family, and his nieces and nephews.
As many know, Kenny wasn't a wealthy man. He made his way by helping others when he could. As such, he did not leave behind any money to pay for the expenses his passing has created. Both he and Layla were in the process of remaking their lives and getting back on their feet again - even though they were in separate places at the time. This page has been set up to help pay for those expenses.
Because of Covid and the fact that many of those who love Kenny are spread out across America, there won't be any services. Some in the family will be putting together a memorial video that can be shared with everyone. It will be out soon. Many have asked what they could do to help or if they should send flowers. There isn't a place to send flowers but if you would like to help by donating some money for the expenses of this horrible loss, Layla would really appreciate it. And yes, Kenny and Layla were separated but they remained best friends and would talk almost daily. Even if no money is raised, Layla has accepted the responsibility of paying for his final care. She is utterly devastated by his loss. They've been together for more than 30 years in a relationship that was more than marriage - it was a friendship that lasted through every up and down they had.
If you would like to help with the costs, Layla would really appreciate it.
Thank you so much for your kindness.
