Hi, I'm Michelle Sanders. My husband Miguel & I are a part of a vibrant bicultural community all along the West Coast of the the United States. One of our good friends in California, Oscar, had an accident the week before Thanksgiving. He fell from the third floor of a building, which resulted in spinal nerve damage, several displaced disks, a broken shoulder, three broken ribs, and a broken pelvis.

Oscar is a phenomenal human, capable of surmounting just about anything, but with growing hospital bills & the likelihood that he will be out of work for an extended period, Miguel & I offered to help raise funds to assist his family & ease his worry so he can focus on recuperating.

I asked Oscar to put words to this request. I admit, I was a teary mess while I translated them. I would never call Oscar or his family poor. His heart is too full of love for me to think of him that way. The humility it took for him to write these words alone, tells you the great man he is...

Mi nombre es Oscar N. Sufri un accidente el cual me dejo sin movimiento en mis piernas. Vivo en Santa Ana, California y estoy en el centro de Rehabilitacion Neuro Restorative.

No se si voy a poder volver a caminar, pero tengo esperanza que con terapias pueda recuperar la movilidad de mis piernas.

Somos seis personas en mi familia. Mi esposa y cuatro hijos. Me veo en la necesidad de pedir ayuda porque somos pobres. Actualamente solo mi esposa trabaja y no tenemos los recursos suficientes para a frontar mi discapacidad. Espero que sea temporal. Creo y tengo fe que aun existen personas de un buen corazon. My name is Oscar N. I suffered an accident which left me motionless in my legs. I live in Santa Ana, California and I am at the Neuro Restorative Rehabilitation Center.

I don't know if I will be able to walk again, but I am hopeful that with therapies I can regain mobility in my legs.

We are six people in my family. My wife and four children. I find myself needing to ask for help because we are poor. Currently only my wife works and we do not have enough resources to deal with my disability.

My hope is that this is temporary. I believe and have faith that there are still people with a good heart... that they can help us.
