Hello. My name is Mary and I am seeking help for my brother, AJ (Alan James) AJ has been battling with liver disease and has had 3 recent inpatient hospitalizations in the last couple months. One of those landing him in the ICU and honestly we weren’t sure he would make it out but he did. After he was discharged he didn’t qualify for inpatient rehab so my brother Dan took him in. This past week Dan had to call to have him taken back by ambulance. Once again he’s been hospitalized. We have been working with care coordinators for a plan after discharge. We are being told he won’t qualify for rehab again but he also is not safe at home alone. He needs oversight and medication management. We are looking at alternatives for assisted living but he also doesn’t have the funds to pay for such care out of pocket. He is caught in a tough spot between he really doesn’t make enough money yet he doesn’t qualify for assistance. We are trying to get him at least a few months of inpatient care to get him back on his feet and his disease under control. We would greatly appreciate anything you can donate to help our efforts to get AJ the care he desperately needs.
