Help Bring Kevin Home and Cover His Funeral Costs

Hello, my name is Sirli. I live and work in Gibraltar with my girls, and I am writing this appeal for help with a broken heart.

My husband, Kevin Macleod, known by some here in Gibraltar, sadly passed away suddenly in Glasgow last weekend. His loss has left me, our 7-year-old daughter, and all who cared for him in deep shock and sadness.

Kevin was a kind, sensitive, and gentle soul who faced many struggles in recent years. Though he had become estranged from his family, they never stopped caring about him — and heartbreakingly, they never had the chance to say goodbye.

Now, we are trying to give Kevin the dignity and peace he deserves. I am organising his cremation in Glasgow and hope to bring his ashes home to Gibraltar, where his loved ones can finally lay him to rest and say their farewells properly.

As this was completely unexpected, I am struggling to cover the costs of the funeral, cremation, and travel. Any help, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and will go directly towards:

• Funeral and cremation expenses in Glasgow

• Travel costs to bring Kevin’s ashes home to Gibraltar

• Any related arrangements to honour his memory

Kevin’s passing is also a painful reminder of how deeply important it is to talk about men’s mental health. Kevin struggled greatly with his mental health over the years, and although he sought help, those struggles sadly became too much for him. Too often, men feel they must carry their pain alone but recognising when you need help and reaching out is a true act of strength.

If Kevin’s story can encourage even one person to speak up, seek support, or check in on someone they care about, then some light may come from this heartbreak. Please, look out for one another and never be afraid to ask for help — no one should face their battles in silence.
