Cancer Mom needs to make home safe.

Hi, I'm Erica. I am a part of a wonderful family that includes my supportive husband, my brilliant 13 year old son, and my loving 10 year old son. On November 17, 2015 our family was dealt a huge blow; I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Soon I will be having surgery and starting chemotherapy and radiation. I will be unable to work during this time. This news has greatly impacted my family, but we are hanging in there and staying positive.
As if that were not enough for us to deal with, less than one month after the diagnosis we discovered a plumbing leak in the crawl space of the condominium we live in. Extensive water damage was sustained throughout a large portion of our ceiling and drywall. Unfortunately the damage to our home cannot be simply repaired using conventional methods. Asbestos was discovered in the drywall and now we need asbestos abatement done. This is an expensive process and my famly and I will be displaced for a week or more. It is absolutely imperative that we have the wet material removed from our home to avoid microbial growth. Once I begin cancer treatment my immunity will be compromised, and so I must have a safe environment in which to recover. I am asking for help to cover the costs of these crucial repairs and restoration. My family and I would be so grateful to be able to reside together in a safe and livable home again. Thank you for reading our story. Your contributions will not only help me, but will allow all of us to feel like a normal family once again.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Erica Ochoa
