Bone Marrow Transplant

 

Please help support Yuleymi in receiving medical care in Mexico. Yuleymi is sweet six year old girl fighting for her life. Yuleymi was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia at the age of three years old. After a long battle Yuleymi’s leukemia appeared to be under control however that sense of peace for her family did not last long. Yuleymi’s family was recently told that the cancer is back and she is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant. Unlike here in the U.S. medical attention is not given unless the family is able to afford it. Unfortunately Yuleymi no longer qualifies for government assistance as they only assist with the first round of treatment. As a mother I can’t begin to imagine Yuleymi’s mother pain and suffering over having her child sick nevertheless having to worry about being able to afford treatment to save her life. Por favor, ayuda a Yuleymi recibir atención médica en México. Yuleymi es una dulce niña de seis años que se encuentra luchando por su vida. Yuleymi fue diagnosticada con leucemia linfoblástica a la edad de tres años. Después de una larga batalla, la leucemia de Yuleymi parecía estar bajo control, sin embargo, esa sensación de paz para su familia no duró mucho. Recientemente se le informó a la familia que el cáncer había regresado y que necesita urgentemente un trasplante de médula ósea. A diferencia de aquí (en los Estados Unidos) en Mexico no se brinda atención médica a menos que la familia pueda pagarla. Desafortunadamente, Yuleymi ya no califica para asistencia del gobierno, ya que el seguro en mexico solo ayuda con la primera ronda de tratamiento. Yuleymi y su familia residen en Tequesquitlan, Jalisco; sin embargo, la familia se encuentra actualmente en Guadalajara, Jalisco por el tratamiento de Yuleymi. Como madre, no puedo empezar a imaginarme el dolor y sufrimiento de la madre de Yuleymi por tener a su hija enferma, mucho menos tener que preocuparse por poder pagar el tratamiento para salvar su vida.
