Gordon family medical travel

I am Wanda Bacon, grandmother to Connor who is currently in ICU after being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (at diagnosis his sugar level was one thousand, a very deadly high) the hospital has struggled to stabilize him and get and keep  his sugar levels down. It has been a roller coaster.  The hospital does not have an endocrinologist ( the type of physician he will require for life) and so he must be medically evacuated to Tripler Army Hospital in Hawaii. The hope is that he will stabilize enough there to be released. And they will receive necessary education on how to properly care for Connor. Connors Daddy, Sam is in the United States Marine Corps and that is why they are living in Okinawa. Connors Mommy is my daughter and they also have a 2 year old Carly ( my granddaughter). It is not the practice of the Military to keep the family together in these situations. They were informed that the government will only pay for Connor and His mommy Courtney to go to Tripler hospital. The family will have to bear the burden  of the cost of Sam and Carly on their own.  To me this is completely  rediculous but nonetheless the reality. The  government will in the mean time will reassign the family to another stateside location one Connor is well enough. After pooling our resources to ensure Connors daddy and sister can come with him, there is a deficit of about $1500 dollars. They are not the type of people to ask for help but they are desperate to stay together during this devastating time. Any help is appreciated. Thoughts and prayers as well.
