Help Chance Have a Chance at Life

Donation protected
Chance Hense is my 21 year old nephew, who just had a heart attack and a stroke after unintentionally *overdosing on prescription drugs. (*The police are investigating because they and suspect foul play and have a suspect on camera who may have been involved in this happening to Chance.)

He has two younger brothers and is the son of a hard working single mom. He had wanted to go into the service after high school, but he was in a car wreck that destroyed his ankle several years ago, and he had to have surgery, which could not fix the problem. He has been in pain ever since, and he is no longer eligible to serve our country like he desired to.

This is his sad story, and it has broken the hearts of our family. His mom, Teri is my brother-in-law's sister, and we are all very close and can't believe this has happened. I am here to ask you to help his mom to be able to possibly give him a chance at life, by letting him stay in a Dr. induced coma long enough to let his body heal, if it can. He was found dead in a hotel breezeway, where he had gone to see some friends. He was revived by the paramedics, but lost oxygen for a period of time. The doctors are not seeing any signs of life at this time, but said there is always hope, and that since he is young and in shape, his body might be able to fight to live. They wanted to give him 48 hours to see if there is any response. Teri and her family would like to have more time to see if he will respond after the drugs get out of his system.

Also, we are a family of faith, and we are believing and praying that God will do a miracle and heal Chance and restore him back to a whole and full life and let him fulfill the purpose he has on this earth. It has happened to others, and we are asking God to do it for Chance, too. One of my good friends had a friend that was in a car accident, and she was in an induced coma for 3-4 months. They didn't think she would live, but my friend prayed and got others to pray, and the injured friend begin to show signs of improvement, and now is recovering well and is home with her family. God answers prayer, and we need time for him to do His work on Chances body.

Teri (his mom) just started a new job in Atlanta, GA, and she does not have insurance on Chance. If the hospital will not let her keep him there to wait a bit before making a decision, she will have to make other arrangements. In addition to that, she will not be working for a while due to being at Chance's bedside every moment she can.

Please help this family out by giving to help fund medical costs and living expenses while Chance is in this hopeful period of recovery. Thank you so much for your generous donations, and most of all for your faith-filled prayers for Chance and his family.

UPDATE: 5/31/15

Thank you so much for your prayers, and keep them coming! Chance tried to open his eyes last night, and his heart rate shot up, but they sedated him to keep him stable. This is a very good sign!
