Hello! My name is Olivia. I’m 21 years old and currently in extensive Eating Disorder Recovery In Washington state. I was in ED recovery for about 4 months before my treatment team recommended that I go and receive more support in another program, as I began to struggle more and more emotionally and with eating each day.

I am fundraising to keep myself afloat as I go through this treatment process, as well as deal with some unexpected costs that have come my way.

I have sacrificed a lot to get to treatment, as I moved out of my first apartment because I was unable to work during this time and cover rent costs. It wasn’t feasible. I had to move back into my parents house. As saddened as I was, I kept moving forward. I flew to Washington, and got admitted into residential treatment. Unexpectedly, my insurance denied my stay after I had been there a week. My treatment team moved me down a level, to almost an 11 hour-a-day Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), so that I could still receive treatment that my insurance would cover. I’m currently residing in an apartment provided by the program, ERC. All of this change and the burden of acclimating to a new city and treatment center, as well as financial costs has begun to challenge my recovery.

This money would help me for this aspect because as I am in treatment for over 10 hours a day, I am unable to hold a job. I mulled this over for so long, and realized that I’ve already gone through so much, and I believe I deserve a time of rest and recovery. I would use this money to pay for bills, groceries, and for other necessary items during my stay.

The second reason, the most stressful one, is that some complications arose from my first apartment, and I am expected to pay for utilities and fees that I wasn’t told about until a week and a half into my treatment. I came here with $300 in my bank account, and already have designated 90% of it to bills.

I am writing this because I am truly stuck, I don’t know how to make all of this work with recovery, as this eating disorder is something I’ve been dealing with for over 5 years. I’ve reached out to multiple supports around me, and unfortunately no one is financially able to help.
