Hi, my name is Ali and I run The Little Baby Barn in Lichfield. A huge proportion of what I do is operating as a baby bank, providing much needed essential items to families who are struggling to afford everything they need for their little ones. I am completely self funded and run the operation alone from my living room, relying on donations of baby clothes and equipment from the community. Recently I have received an influx of non usable and dangerous items, mouldy car seats and cribs, broken high chairs, dirty mouldy clothing and items with parts missing which makes them unsafe. I have to dispose of these items myself and I have to make sure they are disposed of safely to ensure there is no risk to any child, on average this is costing me over £300 a month out of my own pocket, I am at a point where I need some help, I need a skip, I need to pay for a licensed company to take away the dangerous car seats (believe it or not people will take these from a skip and use them, I can’t risk that), I also need to be able to carry on providing items I cannot give out second hand such as mattresses, changing mats, nappies and formula. If you can spare a few £££ to help me out I would be so very grateful, every penny will make a difference and the more I can raise the more I can help those who really need it! If there’s some ££ left over for sealable storage boxes, even better!
