On September 23rd, my car was stolen from my driveway while I was 30 feet away inside my house. When I went to pick up my daughter from work at 10 pm, my car was gone. Less than an hour later, Springfield Police recovered it after a 14-year-old took it on a 115 mph chase that ended in a crash, leaving my car and an SPD patrol vehicle completely totaled.
I am grateful no one was hurt and that my GAP insurance will pay off the loan. I'm also very grateful for SPD's quick response and dispatch for keeping me informed and calm in such a scary and surreal situation.
But now I am without a car with no means to replace mine. I commute to another town for work, but without reliable transportation, and two dependent kids, everything has become a daily struggle.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate asking for help. Right now, though, I could really use it, as I am a single working parent living paycheck to paycheck.
I'm raising funds to help with a replacement vehicle to get me and my kids back on the road. Any amount makes a difference and means so much to me. Thank you for supporting me and my kids through this.
