Support for Brittany’s Healing Journey ❤️
If you know Brittany, you know she’s the type of person who shows up for everyone else, and never asks for anything in return. But right now, she needs our support more than ever.
In January of 2024, Brittany went into the ER, experiencing terrible back pain and numbness in her hands and face, symptoms that doctors originally contributed to her chronic kidney disease. As her situation grew progressively worse, she was finally diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an extremely rare autoimmune disorder where your immune system mistakenly attacks the body's peripheral system. Brittany spent many agonizing weeks in and out of the hospital, dealing with paralysis, a feeding tube, and excruciating nerve pain. Fighting her way through physical and occupational therapy, Brittany slowly recovered, only to learn that her kidney condition had worsened from Guillain-Barré.
Her husband JT stepped up to be her kidney donor and miraculously was a match, but as Brittany began the needed testing for the transplant surgery, her doctors informed her that her heart wasn't strong enough and she'd need an aneurysm repair surgery first. In June, Brittany underwent a grueling but ultimately successful open-heart surgery. Unfortunately, it put an enormous strain on her kidneys, pushing her into end stage renal disease at only 37 years old. Brittany will now have to endure dialysis three times a week until she's healthy enough for her transplant surgery.
Brittany and JT are newlyweds who have already faced incredible challenges. With Brittany in and out of the hospital and JT taking time away from his job to care for her, the medical bills and daily expenses have piled up. Brittany would never ask for help herself, but she truly needs it, especially with her parents being overseas. Despite everything she’s facing, she never complains. She keeps going—with grace, strength, and courage.
If you’re able, please consider donating to help cover her medical expenses and the time both she and JT will need to recover after the transplant. Every bit helps, and every share matters.
Let’s rally around Brittany and JT to remind them that they're not in this alone.
Thank you so much for your love and support.
