Help Bring Caroline Home

Hi, this Gofundme is in memory of my Auntie Caroline.

 

We were devastated on Monday with the news of her completely unexpected passing whilst she was on holiday with friends in Spain. We have now found out that it was due to a Heart Attack brought on by a severe asthmatic episode; this was caused by sand storms on the island of Fuerteventura, where she was visiting.

Caroline as many of you know, loved the simple things in life and lived her life for others, she never knew how to say no, even if she was putting herself under pressure or going so far out her way, that you would have said no for her, had you known. She was an animal lover, raised with dogs and having dogs of her own whilst living in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire. She recently found a love for cats in her new flat in Paisley, as this fitted her new lifestyle, whilst still allowing her to have a "Fur Baby."

My Auntie Caroline leaves behind four children, Connor, 23, a trainee with Arnold Clark. Lauren, 20, Mother to Caroline's oldest Grandchild, Nova (who Caroline lived for and her role as a Gran gave her life new meaning) and currently pregnant with her second child, who sadly will never meet her Gran. Stacey, 18, who cares for her father. Charles, 16, a student at Paisley Grammer. She also leaves her mother, Caroline, 71, who works at West Collage Scotland Paisley campus.

 

I have spent the past week dealing with Spanish Hospitals (who weren't the most helpful,) Insurance Companies (who treated me like I had lost a suitcase and had no urgency in helping resolve the situation.) and the British Consulate (the only establishment to offer any insight and assistance). After spending my week collating all the necessary paperwork, the insurance company have informed me that as the heart attack was caused by her asthma, they will not assist in the Repatriation costs and have left it to us to bring her home.

 

Unfortunately, the means to do this are outwith the reach of her family, and I hope that if you are reading this, you will find it in your heart to assist in any way you can so they can bring their Mum home and give her the proper funeral that she deserves.
