Mrs. Whipkey's Class Mural

My name is Chris Whipkey. I have been teaching at Manitou Springs Elementary School for 10 years. I taught for 4 years as 2nd grade teacher and 6 years as a 5th grade teacher. I LOVE my job! Recently, I accepted a position to go back to being a 2nd grade teacher in my school. In the process of moving into my new classroom, I became inspired to paint the walls to make the classroom warm, inviting, and inspiring for my students. As I was thinking about doing this, I kept thinking how great it would be to have one of my walls be painted with a fun, colorful, Colorado-themed mural.
The artist, Drake Gann , who paints murals all over Colorado, most notably the Tesla mural on the side of the Westside Tattoo building at 21st and Colorado, has offered to paint a mural in my room for half of his normal fee!! Check out his amazing work: http://www.westsidetattoo.net/#!grid/c13rm
The mural will be painted above the windows in my classroom.
At this point, I am hoping to raise $500 to pay for the paint and for the mural. Please help me to raise the funds to get this project done. This mural will inspire 2nd graders for years to come!
