Hello all, I'm raising money for my friend Cara, a school nurse and mother to 4 wonderful kids, with 3 still at home. She is making the adjustment to a single parent household. The oldest is a Corporal in the USMC and currently stationed in California. Her baby, Elliot (age 9) has been experiencing medical difficulties for years which has greatly affected his quality of life. This prompted her decision to leave her first passion, working as a Labor and Delivery nurse, so she could work at his school and be available to take care of him. His neurosurgeon at Tx Children's recently advised surgery in an attempt to improve his symptoms, or at least prevent further deterioration of function. She has insurance, but the out of pocket portion is close to 10k. She has to pay $2100 up front to get the care, and then can establish a payment plan. She will update after his MRI tomorrow.
