Hi Family and Friends,

I am starting a fundraiser for my daughter Amy and her husband Mike O’Hara as they navigate her recent cancer diagnosis and treatment. As many of you may remember, Amy is already a cancer survivor! She fought through Stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma when she was 16. Some of you might not know that Mike was along for that ride as well…he and Amy met in 5th Grade!

On June 7th, we were all shocked when the biopsy of a lump came back with that dreaded word. This time, Amy was diagnosed with Stage II Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, a type of breast cancer.

As a newly married couple in their early 30s with the hopes of having a family one day, Mike and Amy are currently undergoing fertility preservation before Amy begins chemo. Insurance has denied any coverage for the IVF, and they anticipate ongoing medical bills for at least the next year. Amy will go through 18 weeks of chemotherapy, then surgery and radiation, and finally, endocrine therapy.
