Soy Diego Ramón González Villalobos, tengo 12 años y estudio la secundaria en CEPAC. Mi sueño es ser ingeniero como mi tío y poder aportar mis conocimientos a la tecnología. También me gusta mucho jugar fútbol. Hace un poco más de un mes me diagnosticaron un tumor maligno que se llama osteosarcoma, es un cancer en los huesos que es común en los niños y adolescentes, el mío es en el fémur, muy cerquita de la rodilla. Hace unos días recibí mi primera quimioterapia y estuve internado como 6 días. Aveces me siento bien pero muchas veces tengo nauseas y vómito. Casi no como porque ya no tengo apetito, pero la semana pasada, me llevaron de urgencia al hospital porque me sentía muy mal y tenía fiebre, así que pase 3 días de ayuno porque me dio apendicitis y tuvieron que operarme y en ese tiempo que no podía comer, me dio mucha hambre y sed. A los dos días de la operación me enfermé de neumonía y me pusieron oxígeno y antibióticos fuertes y ahora estoy mucho mejor. Mi familia son mi mamá, que dejo su trabajo para cuidarme, mi hermano mayor y mis abuelitos. Ellos están muy preocupados por mi y debo reconocer que yo también tengo mucho miedo, ya estoy perdiendo mucho cabello y estoy un poco más flaquito. La ayuda que yo necesito y les pido, es para poder solventar una prótesis de hueso, pues después de la quinta quimioterapia me van a operar para retirar el tumor y el hueso dañado. Aquí me atienden bien pero no cuentan con los recursos para esa prótesis, así que si mi familia no cuenta con los recursos, me amputarían toda mi pierna. Es por eso que les pido su ayuda para tener la oportunidad de conservar mi extremidad. Les agradezco de corazón su apoyo y generosidad. Dios les multiplique y los bendiga.

Hi, my name is Diego Ramón González Villalobos, I am 12 years old I attend CEPAC middle school. My dream is to become an engineer like my uncle, and be able to contribute my knowledge towards technology. I also like playing soccer. Around a month ago I was diagnosed with a malignant tumor called osteosarcoma, it is a type of bone cancer common in children and adolescents, mine is in the femur close to my knee. A few days ago I was given my first chemotherapy and stayed in the hospital for 6 days, sometimes I feel ok, but most of the times I feel nauseous and vomit. I barely eat anymore since I have lost my appetite. Last week I was taken to the ER because I was feeling really bad and had a fever, they found out I had appendicitis and I had to go through surgery, so I had to fast for three days, even though I was really hungry and thirsty. A couple days after the surgery I came down with pneumonia, I had to intake oxygen and a dose of strong antibiotics, now I feel better. My family is my mom, who had to stop working to take care of me, my elder brother and my grandparents. They are really worried about me and I have to be honest and say that I am worried too, I’m loosing a lot of hair and I am loosing weight. The help I need and I’m asking for is so that we can pay for a bone prosthesis, since after the fifth chemotherapy I have to go through surgery to get rid of the tumor and the damaged bone. Where I currently am I’m being taking care of well but they don’t have the funds to help or get me the bone prosthesis, and my family doesn’t have the money to pay for it, in that case I would have to have my leg amputated, even though there is this option not to go through amputation by paying for the bone prosthesis. That is why I’m asking for help, so that I can have the opportunity to keep my leg. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and generosity.
