Attorney for Amber

Asking for help is never easy, especially in the world that we live in today where it seems everyone is navigating and fighting their own battles. Please know that many factors were considered prior to starting this go fund me and in the end, I knew we at-least needed to try and reach out for support.. knowing that there are SOO many people out there who have been touched by the pure love, joy and kindness that my mom radiates no matter what she is battling at any given moment, gave me a sense of relief knowing that there are people who may want to help support her through the financially draining battle she has ahead.

As some of you may know Amber was involved in a car accident that resulted in her totaling her vehicle and leaving her out of work unpaid for a few weeks due to her injuries. The passengers in the other vehicle were very seriously injured, but thankfully both are on the road to recovery. No drugs or alcohol were involved during the incident, each vehicle was going through a yellow light which caused the collision. Due to the severity of the injuries and the fact that the traffic light had no cameras there is a witness statement that puts my mom at fault for the accident and the injuries to the other driver. The plea that was offered in her last court appearance, includes over $7,000 in fines, months of jail time as well as a suspended license.. the public defender assigned to her case, suggested she take the plea almost immediately after telling her it was just “a bad luck scenario that could happen to anyone”.

For any of you who know Amber, you know that she deserves someone who will truly consider all sides and fight for her, just like she has fought her way through an incredibly difficult life that most would’ve given up on long ago. There have been unimaginable things she has fought through and overcome, completely on her own. There have been times where she has had to ask for help.. but now it is my turn to help, and for the amount needed to secure her an attorney that can fight for her the way she deserves this is my call for help from the people that know and love her. I can go on and on to try to put into words how much this will mean for her, and why she deserves it so much but I have the feeling if you know her.. even just a little bit, you will understand.

The accident seemed to start a snowball of highly stressful events that just haven’t slowed down, including having to make the hard decision to leave her job of over 25 years which has already caused financial strain. The attorney’s we have contacted range between $6,000-$10,000. If we are not able to raise enough for an attorney, the money raised will go towards bills to help support rent/bills in the event that she does end up serving jail time.
