Support Alyssa’s Journey to Save Tyler

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Supporters,

I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. My name is Brandi Bailey and I am speaking on behalf of my daughter, Alyssa Tovar and my cousin, Tyler Forbush. 

In an amazing act of selflessness and courage, my daughter Alyssa, stepped forward on her own to donate one of her kidneys to save my cousins life. We would greatly appreciate your help and support as she prepares for this life-changing journey to help my cousin, Tyler. 

 For the past 2 1/2 years, Tyler has been battling kidney disease, and it has taken a toll on every aspect of his life. Despite the challenges, he has remained resilient, fueled by the love and support from our family and friends. If you have ever gotten the chance to meet Tyler, he lights up any room he walks into. He will always have give you a good laugh and is always in good spirits, no matter what he is facing. Doctors informed him that a kidney transplant was his best chance at a healthier and more fulfilling life. Tyler has been on dialysis for almost 2 years and it strips the life out of him each time he goes. He's in dialysis for several hours, several times a week, and goes home and is out of it for several more hours after dialysis.

My daughter, Alyssa, without saying a word to anyone, decided to see if she was a match for Tyler after learning he was still in need of a transplant. She is an outstanding mother of 3 beautiful girls and loving wife. She has an enormous heart, and it makes me extremely proud that she made this selfless decision. After traveling and many tests later, we found out she is in fact a match for Tyler and the perfect donor for him. 

We have been blessed to finally receive a set surgery date in late March. The upcoming surgery embodies the true meaining of family and sacrafice, but the cost of traveling from Texas to Florida for a family of 5, post surgery care, and time off work is significant.

 

Because Alyssa will have to be away from home for so long to do this, in Florida, she will be bringing her family with her for their hands to hold. This is where I humbly ask for your support. I have created this GoFundMe page to raise funds that will help Alyssa cover the costs of traveling for her and her family and ensure a smoother recovery process. Your generosity can make a world of difference, giving Alyssa the chance to donate and Tyler the chance to live a life free from the constraints of his current health challenges. We are extremely excited that this long wait will finally come to an end.
