Who are we?

Hi! My name is Jenna and I am the owner of Dolce Mama's Ice Cream. In 2007 my husband returned home from his 13 month Army deployment injured with PTSD and a Traumatic Brain Injury. As his caregiver for the past 9 years I am unable to work a typical 9-5 job. To have my own business and create my hours would give me the flexibility I need to take care of my husband, be a mom, contribute to the household income and do something I am passionate about!

Ice cream has been my families favorite treat and seriously consider us to be ice cream connoisseurs! Seeing a need for handmade ice cream in my community it only made sense that this was the right business for me to start!

First step is to get Dolce Mama's to the farmer’s market. This will require 5-8 hours a week of production time with a couple ice cream mixers. After I have gained a customer base and good reputation then I will sell my ice cream wholesale to local cafe's, shops and start an online Ice cream of the month club!

At this time, I am searching for a commercial kitchen and obtaining liability insurance. Once these things are in place I can pay health department fees. My anticipated start time to sell ice cream at the 2016 Salem Saturday Market is the 3rd Saturday of April!




Where will the money go?

The funds raised will help us get production going so that we can start selling ice cream at the local farmers market. We will be able to purchase a good quality ice cream maker, pay for licenses and health department fees and purchase high qulaity ingredients. 

What does this mean to us?

We have a dream of opening a brick and mortor location! Starting at the farmers market and making a name for Dolce Mama's would ensure an awesome start to something wonderful!
