Vulpini: Furry Cooking Show

Donation protected

Hey everybody! I'm Pedro "Reynard" Loustaunau, a furry from the Denver area. I've been a member of the fandom for many years and have been working on creative ways to give back to the furry community.

That's where Vulpini comes in. Vulpini is a cooking show I was trying to get started some time ago. I have an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts and a lot of furries want to learn to cook delicious meals for themselves and their loved ones. Vulpini will be a show for beginners and experts alike. We'll show you important techniques and awesome dishes that you'll love. We'll also answer questions about previous dishes and make clarifications where needed of course. This is a show for the furry community as a whole, we want everyone to enjoy it!

Unfortunately, I found my equipment to be missing some key pieces and have since had to move to a new place that doesn't lend itself to recording a show very well.

This is where you come in! With your help, we can get the equipment necessary to do this show right! Below is an equipment list to do the show justice. Of course, we may be able to make due with a bit less, but this would be the ideal equipment list. We wanna do it right and we wanna make sure everyone is super happy with the show!

About the show:

Vulpini will be a lighthearted show where two foxes will show you how to make great food from scratch. At least once a month we'll show you how to make either an important building block for food (such as stock, sauces, etc) and/or we'll show you how to make an amazing meal you'll love (probably). These will be formatted like a real cooking show, 15 to 30 minutes long (if not longer) to really show you the important details.

Taking suggestions from donors on here (as well as anyone who pledges continuous support through Patreon after we launch), we will show the community how to make the foods that they want to eat and every week we'll post a short video about smaller things like how to make roux or hone your knives to keep you entertained while you wait for the next episode. We'll also answer questions from you guys! Wondering how to sharpen a blade? Or how to properly thaw frozen chicken? Just ask! Our weekly videos and the show as a whole will be all about you, the viewers!

Cast and Crew:

- Reynard L - Head cook/instructor
- Jax the Red Fox - Assistant cook/editor
- Myrra Wolf - Cameraman/second editor

Ideal Equipment List:

- Backdrop screen and frame (this would be filmed in my roomate's unfinished basement and will need some good looking cover)
- Lights. Lots and lots of lights (it is dark, especially for a camera and the more light the better we can make it look)
- Kitchen islands (these will make up the counter space necessary to cook and prepare stuff)
- Portable electric cook tops (necessary to actually cook, the kitchen is tiny and has no room to record, hence the basement)
- Induction cookware (in order to cook on induction burners, we'll need new cookware. Induction will also be safer to cook with)
- Second microphone (having a second actor, we'll need another microphone)
- Audio recording devices (in order to make audio quality better, it'll be best to record audio onto a seperate recording device from closer to the action)
- Tripods (I already have a great camera but no way to hold it nor the other various important pieces of equipment)
- Portable A/C unit (cooking gets pretty hot and wearing a fursuit while doing so is even worse)
- Ingredients (not normally a huge expense but we need to be able to do dry runs and tests before recording since it has to taste good without actually tasting it when we record it)
- Misc equipment (things like extensions, power splitters, fire extinguishers, gloves, maybe aprons? just smaller expenses that may come up but add up to be a lot)

Timeline:

This is a rough timeline. That is to say, it may take longer to get things going, but will most likely take less time. We will do our best to speed it up and get the show up and running sooner, but we don't want to overpromise nor compromise quality and dissapoint you all
- Week 0
- From the time we get the donations for the necessary equipment, it'll be about one week to transfer and verify equipment for purchase. At this time we'll also get opinions for dishes and questions from those of you who donated at the $10 level or above
- Week 1
- From there, we need some time to ship and set up the equipment, let's say 3 weeks just to be safe. At this time we can begin filming as well as take the picture for the poster for those of you who donated $50 or more
- Week 4
- Next we need to film at least 3 episodes and probably about 9 video questions to answer, that way we can post the first episode. To be safe, we'll say 2 months but we will try and make it take less time. Again, rough timeline and things will likely be done sooner but we want to do this right. Also at this time we should have the posters from the printer and will begin shipping them to those who donated at or above the $50 level
- Week 12
- This is roughly where we'll begin posting! By then, we'll have set up enough of a buffer to get the show started and keep going even if there are small production delays! We'll also set up a Patreon at this time to help pay for recurring costs, equipment upkeep, ingredients, new equipment and enlarged bills (lights and cooking take a ton of power). We'll continue to take suggestions for the foods and answer questions weekly. If we get enough support on there, we can try and post more than once a month!

Sound like something you'd like to see become a reality? Donate on here and we'll use the money to make some awesome videos! We'll make an awesome show and make some awesome food and you'll learn to cook in no time!

Vulpini episodes will be posted publicly for the whole community to see! Tell your friends!

Special Note: I started the campaign about 25 days in since it has had a lot of editing and refining. We are working on some promotional stuff based off of the original pilot episode I recorded which was only myself and not in an ideal position, but will at least be fun to see hopefully.
