Support Ximena's Journey to Recovery

This is a picture of my daughter, Ximena, from when she was on ECMO therapy in the hospital. The day I went into labor, I went into sepsis and likely passed the infection to her. She inhaled meconium at birth and had to be flown to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera right away to receive emergency treatment. Ximena immediately received a cannulation surgery on her neck to receive ECMO therapy for a week in the PICU, and then she spent several weeks recovering in the NICU. Over the last few months, Ximena has suffered from conditions that no child should have to endure including pulmonary hypertension, a pulmonary hemorrhage, blood clots, subcutaneous necrosis, anemia, and hypercalcemia. She was in the hospital for a total of six weeks and is thankfully doing much better now. However, she still has frequent follow up appointments with her cardiologist, hematologist, endocrinologist, and primary care doctor to monitor her health along with several medications. We are now receiving several bills that her insurance does not cover, so we are asking our family and friends for help to pay for her medical expenses. We truly appreciate your contributions and thank everyone who has checked up on my little miracle baby.
