Bottom Line / TLDR
Connective Theatre Company was founded in the fall of 2018 as a collective of Chicago artists committed to creating diverse stories for the stage. Through partnerships with local organizations and community engagement, CTC hopes to not only create thrilling art, but to make a tangible impact on our city and the world at large. We are committed to telling stories that connect reason and emotion, provoke critical consciousness, and facilitate a path to action.

The funds raised through this effort will allow CTC to gain financial footing in our first season in order to become a self-sufficient producing house and mainstay of Chicago theatre. These funds will also cover various expenses required to produce our projects. These include obtaining rights for published works; paying directors, designers, actors; and tech needs such as lights, costumes, sets, etc.

Every donation supports the success and longevity of our company, thank you so much in advance for your generosity! Seriously y’all, no donation is too big or too small and your support helps us keep the lights on, thank you thank you thank you!

What We Are Committed To
Connective Theatre Company abides by the Chicago Theatre Standards/#NotInOurHouse. This effort works towards a “…cultural paradigm shift away from turning a blind eye to sexual harassment, discrimination, violence, intimidation and bullying in our theatres and towards mentoring, prevention, and accountability.”

CTC is committed to partnering with local social justice organizations for each main stage production; providing a fight choreographer for any production that requires staged violence, and an intimacy designer for any production containing sexual content and/or nudity; and paying all of our designers and actors for their work on our projects.

Our History
Our ensemble was originally comprised of a group of strangers who were brought together to create a space of artistic inspiration and fulfillment. In six short months, we have formed a unique vision for our ensemble that holds us accountable for creating both a professionally and emotionally sound environment. We brainstormed dozens of projects and concepts for production and developed a year-long season of programming; we partnered with local social justice organizations for each main stage production, including RefugeeOne for our production of One Flea Spare and Awakenings for our writing workshop/performance of Me Too Monologues; and we have been chosen as a Producing Resident at Nox Arca Theatre - a black box space where we meet, rehearse, perform, and call home.
