For the first time in Scotland, cinema workers at Vue Cinema St Enoch are taking strike action to secure their demands of the Real Living Wage, paid and safe transport home, better contracted hours, and trade union recognition.
Hospitality workers have had enough of the impoverishing industry standards so often cited as the reason they cannot be paid at a reasonable rate. Instead, they are choosing to organise a workers' union against an industry that viciously attacks trade unionism for better conditions, dignity, and respect in the workplace.
This solidarity fund will be used for top-up payments to ensure no worker goes without over December, as well as materials for the pickets.
