Help Jamaica Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa!
Overnight, the lives of the Jamaican people changed forever when Hurricane Melissa tore through our beloved island. Homes were swept away by floods and mudslides. Roofs vanished, power lines collapsed, crops were destroyed, and families were left without food, water, or shelter. People and wildlife were displaced. The devastation is immense; our nation is traumatized, grieving, and hungry.
Generations of families have lost everything, including my own childhood home. All that remains is the veranda where I once sat beside my grandmother, listening to her feed the community with both food and wisdom. The neighborhood that once echoed with laughter and music is now unrecognizable—streets underwater, homes destroyed, loved ones gone, livestock and crops lost.
Jamaica, the land that gave the world Bob Marley, Usain Bolt, reggae music, and jerk chicken, now needs your love and support. We are strong and proud, but the road ahead is long. We will rebuild, but we cannot do it alone.
Please donate to help us recover and rebuild. Every dollar brings hope, safety, and healing.
Your donation will provide:
Emergency supplies such as food, water, and hygiene kits
Temporary housing and urgent home repairs
Rebuilding efforts for families who lost everything
Community cleanup and restoration projects
Rebuilding of schools and hospitals
Mental health support for survivors
Travel, lodging, and small stipends for therapists volunteering to provide psychological care
Many families are still living in bathrooms, the only safe concrete spaces they could find during the storm, unsure when they can return home. Government aid will cover only a small portion of what is needed. That’s why New Point of View Counseling, together with Andrea Lee and Blue Paloma in Jamaica, is asking for your help.
No amount is too small or too large. Even sharing this page helps us reach more caring hearts.
As Bob Marley said, “One Love, One Heart.” Let’s come together to show that love now.
Please stand with the people of Jamaica as we rebuild our homes, our communities, and our hearts after Hurricane Melissa.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your empathy, kindness, and generosity.
