My father Jim Gravelle, the healthiest man alive, never a smoker, hardley drank, ran 5miles a day, weight lifted, had a great nutritional diet and a dedicated father to his daughter and grandfather to his 4 grandsonsgrandsons; was diagnosed with non-hodkins lymphoblastic lymphoma Oct, 31st 2013, the beginning of an extremely tough fight. Long and agonizing my father fought through all the chemo, lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsy, blood clots, an auto-bone marrow biopsy, and radiation to only get a 50/50 chance of the cancer not returning. Being told remission at the end of his fight was the best day we could of dreamed of. But only two weeks after the last radiation my father felt something was wrong, having headaches, blurred vision and hearing issues, he pushed and fought for doctors to take a look at the cause....our devistation grew as the worse news came, the cancer had returned to his brain. Attacking his brain these cancer cells not only are threatening his life but they also caused an optical stroke and took my fathers sight in his right eye, making his fight even harder, especially still exhausted; having no time to recoup from the first fight. Now again fighting for his life with stronger iv chemo, stronger lumbar chemo, and a needed bone marrow transplant. This time with a donors bone marrow. Now the kicker is as a dying mans needs of a donor transplant to save his life, they pull him aside and explain that donor transplant are costly and are not covered by insurance. Throwing out numbers such as in the tens of thousands...My dad needs our helphelp to fight his fight with him! Please help my dad as he is the kindest man one could ever have the pleasure of knowing. My father would give the shirt off his back to a stranger! Please show him that his 54 years of givinggiving to others, kindness, hard work, and care for others more then himself means more then a good deed, and will be shown back to him with support during the fight for his life!
