Hi, this is Natalie and Bruno and our girl is in need of emergency surgery. You might have met Ella, our 8-year-old tuxedo kitty. For those that haven't, she is a fierce, stubborn, very mean yet lovely 8 pounds of pure chaos.
This thanksgiving Ella was brought to the emergency unit as she was vomiting hairballs throughout the night and not able to keep food in. After very expensive tests and extra stat holiday fees we found out that there is a blockage on her small intestine. She is now about to go into surgery to try and remove this foreign object (which we all suspect it to be her own hair) and it is a higher risk surgery due to some of Ella's medical history...
When Ella was born, doctors found a hernia on her heart that is extremely rare and not really treatable. She's been living with this hernia her whole life. However, this hernia adds a new layer of problems when it comes to surgeries or any abrasive medical treatments. Because of that Ella requires extra attention and specialists to treat her intestine blockage.
We really don't like asking for money, but we thought this would be a passive way to help for those that have been asking what they can do. The total vet bill at this point is around $10,000 without counting on any extra fees that might come up after surgery. This situation is a bit beyond pet insurance and has definitely put a toll on the little savings we have and our credit.
We know a lot of our friends are Ella stans and love her so much so we want to let you all know that we are going above and beyond to make sure that she has absolutely everything she can to succeed. We think we caught this situation early enough to not have any serious complications but still, the surgery has chances of failure.
We'll be spamming this GoFundMe with cute pictures of Ella, so be ready and be warned.
Love you all and thanks for taking the time reading this. Feel free to reach out and apologies if we take our time to reply to you in the next days! We'll try to update this and everyone as much as we can.
