ED BACKER'S PROSTETIC LEG FUND

Ed Backer is a dear friend and colleague who has lost his leg to diabetes. Ed is a Registered Nurse who was employed at Erie county Medical center in Buffalo, NY for many years. Most recently , Ed has been working at the Gates Vascular Institue in Buffalo, NY.  At age 56, his plan was to continue to work in health care where he had found his love in the field of electrophysiology.  Unfortunately, he developed complications from his diabetes. After spending several weeks in the hospital, Ed lost his leg.  He is currently in rehabilitation hoping to be fit for a prosthesis. The expense of the prosthesis  is far too costly for Ed to afford on his own, and not to mention the changes that will need to be made to his current residence to accommodate his disability.  We are hoping to raise $12,000 for the cost of his prosthetic leg.  Your generosity would be greatly appreciated to assist Ed in living a full and productive life.
