Hi all… I want to start off by saying that this is for my sweet mom, and anyone who knows her knows how kind, caring and great she is! I know my mom wouldn’t normally share her medical issues but I don’t want her to feel alone during a recent diagnosis of multiple myeloma. This is a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. Currently there is no cure but she’s decided to have treatment through City of Hope and will be part of a trial to hopefully find a cure. Luckily we believe this was caught early as she was having routine blood work being done about a year ago which caused one of her doctors to question some abnormal labs. Further labs, testing, and a bone biopsy she received her final diagnosis. She started treatment today 4/14 which begins with weekly infusions and injections that goes on for four months. After those four months, she will be having some strong chemo and more meds in hopes for a cure. I know she would never ask for money but as her and my dad are both retired and have to drive weekly to the hospital which is about 2-3 hours from their house. These funds will ease the burden and go towards any medical expenses they may have over the next year. Please keep my mom in your prayers, and our family as we support her in this battle against cancer. We love her so much and couldn’t imagine a place without her in it. Thank you!
