Family, Friends, and all those that feel like they are a little of both,

Some people leave large footprints to fill after they have left us.  Others have such good natured and large hearts that their departure leaves larger holes.  Dustin Price passed away peacefully while sleeping during the early morning of 6/19/2020 leaving such a void.

Always there with encouraging words and help for others, its hard to imagine how to help this family when they are so accustomed to being there for others.  A group of close colleagues, friends really, wanted to answer the question we are hearing from others: “How can I help?”

We are establishing this modest fund to provide both some financial security for his wife Marea so that she can care for the family’s immediate needs and then to possibly serve to seed an education savings account for their talented and brilliant daughter Payton.

Everyone is an Artist at something. Dustin’s world was his relationships to other people.  He was a caring and loyal friend, a genuine and committed coworker, a concerned and dedicated son and brother, but his passion and masterpiece was the family he created with Marea and Payton.  This trio was the sun around which he revolved.  Marea and Dustin were soulmates and best friends to one another, and he was the best friend and super dad to their daughter.  They were inseparable.

Born in Montana and having lived most of his life in the Pacific Northwest, Dustin’s trademark phrase was “Giddy Up!”  It was a greeting, an email signature, a salutation and exclamation. It meant to all of us different things at different times, but it really was his playful way of reminding us to keep going and to not take life too seriously.

Dustin and Marea met while both working at the Shoreline Central Market.  He started off in the Dairy department and soon found himself working on back end pricing and data within the Point of Sale department.  He then started working in the corporate center managing costing integrity across the company’s large vendor community.  When Marea accepted a promotion at the Bainbridge Island Town & Country Market, the family of three moved to Hansville, Washington.  With each position taken and move made, Dustin’s heart of gold touched many.  Within the Town & Country community Dustin was loved by many and will be missed by many more.

Marea is not one to ask for help.  Your thoughts, your prayers would be enough to sustain her.  As coworkers and team members to Dustin we have gotten to know the family deeply.  Some have worked directly with Dustin for the last 18 years.  We wanted to provide a channel of assistance for those who also want to help financially.

Giddy up our Friend
