Supporting the wiesblatt family in memory of Orca Wiesblatt;

I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of a dear friend, Kim White and her family I met through the hockey community in Calgary, Alberta when our sons played together. We spent many hours texting, even during games because of our communication styles. Our barriers never let us not enjoy the game together. Or our friendship even years later.

As many of you throughout the years within the hockey world have come to know or learn about this amazing hockey family, my hope with this fundraiser is to help his family and friends navigate this unimaginable loss and to come together to celebrate Orca’s memory and to ease the financial burdens that come with having to say goodbye far too soon to him. This fundraiser will help cover memorial expenses and allow his family to focus on being together for healing during this heartbreaking time.

There has been such an outpouring of love for this young man on statements from so many fans, friends, former teammates and every organization he has played for. His talent, love of life and infectious smile never went unnoticed on or off the ice; it is one to be recognized and to be remembered with such a high regard.

Orca, who notched 27 goals and 79 points in 138 career games with the Hitmen, skated last season as a forward with the Athens Rock Lobsters of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. He had signed with the ECHL’s Allen Americans for the upcoming season in early September and the organization posted “snapped him up from Athens” he will truly be missed in the hockey community near and far.

This young man was an exceptional player and an even more exceptional person.

If you are able to, please consider donating and/or sharing this page. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference to this family and is deeply appreciated. Thank you so much for your kindness and support to all of his family during this incredibly difficult time. I want the Wiesblatt family to know that they are not alone. Every friend, teammate and fan that has come to know them, we are here, standing united as a deep rooted hockey community from near or far away. It takes a village, and we are here for them now more than ever. ❤️

this is their family’s story.
