Our friend Jessica was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Jessica is a Labor and Delivery nurse who loves doing what she does. During one of her shifts, she experienced severe abdominal pain that landed her in the ER with a diagnosis of a 14 cm tumor on one of her ovaries. Soon after, Jessica had a laparotomy to remove the tumor that was sent for further testing and was soon diagnosed with ovarian cancer. This diagnosis is extremely heavy for her family given that she lost her father to leukemia at a younger age.  

This diagnosis is not only affecting her family emotionally but financially as well, as Jessica is the main source of income in her home. Due to a rough recovery from surgery that involved a diagnosis of shingles, a series of complications and the current pandemic, Jessica has not been able to return to work. 

Currently on unpaid medical leave, Jessica is unable to start her journey with chemotherapy and we are asking for any assistance to help support her fight against ovarian cancer. We understand these hard times for all.
