During the month of November during the Fall of 2021, Virginia Tech students apart of the Linking Lives Study Abroad Program will be traveling to Nyamyumba, Rwanda, Africa. While in Nyamyumba, the students will be partnering with the NGO, Mabawa, to complete various tasks throughout the community. This non-government organization focuses on establishing sustainable human and social capital resources to support their community through various elements such as education, beekeeping, agriculture, water, and health. Throughout the month of November, the Virginia Tech students will be collaborating and enhancing themselves in this cross-cultural experience. Additionally, the students will have the opportunity to spend one day with a host family who lives in Nyamyumba. In efforts to give back to the community and families the students are staying with, Virginia Tech students are working to fundraise for the NGO and the local Nyamyumban community. The money fundraised will be going directly to the NGO in providing necessary household items and goods for families in need. Any donations are beyond appreciated, thank you!!!
