Vermont for Ukraine

It is hard watching this a world away but not knowing how to help.

Vermont for Ukraine is a community initiative started by two medical students at the University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine. This initiative was built to raise desperately needed funds and medical supplies to support the people of Ukraine.

Vermont for Ukraine is partnering with Razom , a nonprofit organization founded in 2014. Razom's key focus has always been building a path towards a more prosperous and democratic Ukraine.

In addition to sending medical aid, Razom has been working on social, cultural, technical, and educational initiatives in Ukraine for the last eight years.

Razom has partnered with Meest America, a Ukrainian shipping company featured in this NYTimes article last weekend. Meest America’s long-established shipping relationships in Eastern Europe have been entirely repurposed in the last few weeks when they pivoted from shipping consumer goods to shipping medical supplies into Ukraine along previously established shipping routes. Last week, with Razom and Meest America’s partnership, 38 tons of medical and hospital supplies were sent to Ukraine via Poland.

In partnership with Razom, we are gathering funds and medical supplies to be shipped to Ukraine as soon as possible.

On Saturday, March 26th, we will be collecting physical donations of medical supplies on the top block of Church Street in front of Vermont Flannel. In partnership with Vermont Flannel, we will have donation boxes available at all five Vermont Flannel locations throughout the state starting Friday, March 25th.

Please only donate items found on this list. Due to the urgent need, we need to itemize, pack, and label in a way that will not slow down the shipment or delivery of these supplies.

Please donate directly to Razom through this fundraiser if you cannot donate physical items.

Vermont is a great state, and while many of us are struggling in the current economic situation, I know that we are always looking to help our neighbors in any way we can - even if those neighbors are a continent away.

Your donations will go directly from you to Razom. As the organizers, we do not touch nor have access to the funds. Through GoFundMe's partnership, you will receive a tax receipt automatically from their charity partner, the PayPal Giving Fund, who will distribute your donations directly to Razom.
