Vanessa Stone Memorial Scholarship

Vanessa Piacentino Stone was a graduate of Lee High School's class of 1991. "V" was an excellent friend, student, and athlete. She was an all around extraordinary individual who was admired by those who were blessed to have known her. On February 2, 2010, at the age of 36, Vanessa lost her battle with cancer.
In memorial of her life and time at Lee High School, friends and family established a scholarship fund in Vanessa's name. This is a great chance to support a meaningful cause and to help celebrate the life of a wonderful woman who was taken from us far too early.
The Fund was created to provide financial support for graduating Lee High School seniors who are pursuing a college degree. Each year, the scholarship committee awards one $1000 scholarship to one graduating senior or two $500 scholarships to two graduating seniors. The scholarship is awarded for the second semester's educationally related expenses.
By supporting this cause you will aid in the support of a local scholarship fund that benefits Lee High School students wishing to further their education and to help raise cancer awareness.
We sincerely appreciate your support and help!
God saw you were getting tired,
And a cure was not meant to be.
So he put his arms around you,
And whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you,
As we saw you pass away.
Although we love you deeply,
We could not make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
