VSPCA Spay & Neuter and Visiting Vets Fundraising Campaign
Hi, my name is Denise and I'm a volunteer with the VSPCA.
The VSPCA stands for the Vincentian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, we are the only animal non-profit in St Vincent. Our mission is to reduce the number of stray animals in the Caribbean islands of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), to educate, and assist animals and the community in taking care of them.
The aim of this campaign is to raise funds for the reopening of the VSPCA Spay and Neuter Clinic; and to support international visiting volunteer vets with accommodation for the coming year.
The VSPCA is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in SVG. We are launching this campaign to raise crucial funds. We have estimated we will need to raise £72,200 to reopen our Spay and Neuter Clinics. These clinics are essential for reducing the number of strays, therefore reducing the number of suffering animals.
International Volunteering Vets are offering their time and expertise to help us with a desperately needed high volume spay and neuter initiative, and animal treatment for those on low/no incomes. However, we need to provide our volunteer vets with accommodation and without the funds to do so, we risk losing their assistance.
Can you help us to raise the £72,200 needed to cover these costs and support our volunteer veterinarians, so they can focus on preventing animal suffering with our Spay and Neuter Clinics and providing life saving care where needed.
How your contribution will help:
- £41 provides a nights stay for a volunteer vet
- £280 covers a weeks accommodation for one vet
- £1148 supports a months stay for a volunteer vet
- £3 would provide one weeks breakfast for our volunteer vet
- £6 would cover a lunch
- £15 would pay for dinner
- £23 covers meals for one week
- £92 pays for a months meals
- £40 equals one weeks transportation costs
- £160 would cover a month
- £16,800 would mean one vet for a year
- £67,200 would allow a team of four vets to work with us for one year
- £5000 means we reopen the VSPCA headquarters, which has been temporarily closed for clinics due to lack of funds. This would include the following necessary medical supplies:
-Sedation medication
-Surgical gloves
-Surgical gown
-Sutures
-Needles
-Pain medication
-Antibiotics
-Eye and ear medication
-Bandages
-Cotton swabs
-Cleaning products
-Air conditioning
-Surgical tables
-Auto Cleve (for instrument sterilisations)
A total of £72,200
