Help Jessica With Her Medical Expenses

Hi my name is Selma and I’m fundraising for a really good friend of mine, Jessica, who was involved in a traumatic motor vehicle incident.

Anyone who knows Jessica knows she is a bright and loving individual whose care and compassion is out of the world. Laughter pours out of her in waves, and if you spent a day with her, you’d feel the warmth and kindness radiating off of her.

Jessica is also a Latina and daughter of immigrants. She is a hardworking single mother of a 2 year old. She spends her time between parenting, working, and going to Grad school full-time to earn her Master’s.

On December 30th, after a night with friends, Jessica was struck by a pickup truck doing donuts in the middle of the road and ran over by another vehicle.

She was rushed to the hospital where inadequate care was received which resulted in delayed care and once going for a second opinion at urgent care it was reveled she had third degree burns and she was rushed to the hospital. Since then she has had two skin grafting surgeries and knee reconstruction surgery all in one week. Jessica is currently in the hospital, slowly recovering. All donations will go towards a live in nurse to help rehab Jessica. Jessica is, and will be, unable to walk for a few weeks. The nurse will help guide and teach Jessica how to use her leg again and become the independent young woman she has always been.

The vehicles involved in the incident had stolen plates and no plates, so financial compensation is not possible. She needs to take time off work to recuperate from the surgeries, and during this time, hospital bills will be coming in. We are asking for you to donate to help this young woman and mom as she gets back on her feet. At this time, estimated costs are $5,500.
