Brandons Journey To Come Home

Hello, my name is Demara and I am Brandon's sister in law. Brandon was admitted into the Royal Alexandra Hospital in the early morning hours of October 1st, 2022 due to a severe car accident that led to extensive injuries. The first few months were a rollercoaster to say the least, Brandon put up a huge fight and we are all so proud of him as we have been blessed with every moment that has led us to this day. His courage, strength and will to keep pushing through each battle is simply amazing, if asked why he continues to push so hard his answer is quite easy, he has two beautiful boys that keep him going and he keeps his family very close to his heart.
With that being said I am reaching out as everyone in the family has matched his energy to keep fighting no matter what, so many changes and milestones have been reached throughout the last 7 months. He spent just over 140 days in ICU and as they celebrated on the day of February 22nd, 2023 they classified him as graduated from the ICU and was placed on a nursing unit where they would prepare him for his departure to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Centre!! Such an inspiring and exciting day for Brandon which brought many tears of joy to absolutely everyone. They are working him very hard as the injury that Brandon sustained was a compression fracture of his vertebrae's in his lower neck which resulted in his diagnosis as a quadriplegic.
Our next milestone is dated June 7th, 2023 as Brandon will be released from the Glenrose to go home, yet another absolutely amazing day although the fight does not stop there, our goal is to reach $60,000 as there will be many unexpected medical costs to come such as prescription costs and medical equipment - here is a brief list of what is to come, he will need a commode, air bed, cough assist machine, tens machine, wheelchair, and a wheelchair accessible van for transportation etc. Now there is many means of help and the Glenrose is absolutely amazing with resources and knowledge with finding different programs for any needs of Brandon that need to be met but even with that there will still be some costs for patient portion and I am hoping that this will help ease the financial stresses to come as Brandon needs to keep up his good fight and stay focused on getting better with his boys and family at his side.
Thank you in advance and I will update as much as I can as more milestones are to come! We got this Brandon! ❤️
