Apr 2021 - We have now migrated to this new GoFundMe Charity site for Miriam Sei Education Inc.

Early 2021, we lost Majidat M. who was one of our cherished friends and champion. Majidat was instrumental in facilitating our receipt of donations for our STEM Lab at Sunsei school in Kenya. To honor Majidat's legacy, we are raising funds to ship the items to Kenya. Thank you all for supporting us towards this goal.

Our mother, Mrs. Miriam Sei, was the most amazing woman that we have ever known. As a widow, she raised 4 kids by herself, while going to school, and graduated with a Masters in Education. After retiring from teaching for 29 years, she became a full-time farmer in the rural highlands of Kenya.

In retirement, mom became gravely concerned about the illiteracy and poverty that was prevalent in her rural community. Through prayer and community support, in 2009, she founded the primary school Sunsei Educational Center.

Unfortunately, on September 17, 2014, our mom, passed away from lupus-related complications. As her children, we promised to keep her legacy alive, and support the school, by keeping Sunsei Educational Center running.

In honor of our mom, we founded Miriam Sei Education Inc. a U.S. based 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our vision is to eradicate illiteracy and poverty in rural Kenyan communities.

Since 2015 we've built 4 brick classrooms, 2 temporary classrooms, and 6 brick latrines, and are in the process of competing a science lab. We also supply learning materials, providing scholarships to needy students, providing a nourishing meals for the children enrolled at the school. ALL THANKS TO OUR GENEROUS SPONSORS!!!

Want to join me in making a difference? Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
