Hey Everybody,
Thank you for taking a second to read the story of my nephew Austin Harper and his battle with cancer.
Unfortunately his journey began on the late evening of his 21st birthday February 16, 2021 when he found a large lump on his upper leg. In the early morning of February 18th he was woke up by extreme pain and swelling in the lump and leg. He was taken to the emergency room and admitted for a blood clot and a mass that need to be further evaluated by specialist. After 5 days of scans and tests he was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. Burkitt’s lymphoma is a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Which is why the mass was able to reach such a large size within hours. This meant the doctors had to act quickly and examine the rest of his body making sure it hadn’t spread anywhere beyond his femur. We were extremely blessed to hear that it hadn’t spread. With the diagnosis being so aggressive they had to get him started with chemo quickly. He started his chemo treatment on February 26th and was in and out of the hospital for a few months. He got to ring the last treatment bell for chemo on the evening of May 25th! The mass is completely gone and his blood work and scans are still good. He has been extremely strong through this whole process. He will soon start radiation so I’m asking everyone to please keep those prayers coming because we need our tall ray of sunshine to keep that big smile on his face!
Our family and friends are trying every way possible to help raise money for the extensive hospital and doctor bills. We know its been a tough year for everyone financially and understand if you are unable to donate but we would love if you could help share and pray.
