Patrick is going into hospice today. He has been battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer for 19 months and is no longer a candidate for treatment.  The cancer has moved to the liver, his lungs, and the brain. 

He just turned 45 in May. Who thinks they will need life insurance at 43? We have no life insurance, no savings, and no way to pay for final expenses. I have only worked part time so I'm able to take care of him and his needs, now that he's on hospice I plan to be by his side the whole time. 

Patrick will be leaving behind 4 kids (3 step children, that he raised as his own), a grandson, and myself. I think his greatest sadness is not being able to see his daughter grow up, graduate high school, get married....
Her name is Dani and she is 14 and the youngest of our children. 

He worries too much about what will happen to us and if we will be ok. I tell him that we will be fine financially, but I know he will be relieved to know that his final expenses are taken care of and I'm not drowning in that debt before he goes. 

It's not easy to ask people for help, but you do what you have do for the people you love.
