My name is Jade, and my cat Loki was diagnosed with stomatitis in December. Stomatitis is an infection in the teeth and gums and has made Loki unable to eat dry food, and struggle to eat even the softest foods I can find. In December, I had half of Loki’s teeth removed, and that cost me $2,400 including bloodwork and aftercare. I was able to have family support for half that cost (thank you so much if you’re reading this), and I put the rest on my credit card. Since then, I’ve had to take Loki to the vet multiple times, and he’s still having difficulty with his mouth, and eating less and less. I’ve gone to 3 different vets and they’ve all recommended removing the rest of his teeth. The lowest quote I’ve gotten for that was $1,800. His other vet bills and the medications I’ve tried in the meantime have all had to go onto my credit card.

I’m 22 years old, and I’ve had Loki since I was 8 years old. He’s now 13 and turning 14 in August. Loki and his sister Freya have been in my life through a lot of trauma and hardships. They’re my emotional support animals and they mean the world to me. My mental health has really suffered since Loki’s health has been declining. I still have hope for him. He’s still himself; he still loves his other fur-siblings, snuggles, and tries to groom them. He still wants food; he just struggles through the pain to eat. He still purrs and cuddles with me, and he’s gotten more drooly now that he has half his teeth. My vet and I believe that he still has plenty of life left to live, and it wouldn’t be beneficial for me or him to put him down.

I am hoping to get some financial support to get my sweet boy the care he needs to continue living a happy life with me and his fur-siblings.
