Hi, I’m Andrew, and this past year has changed my life completely.
After a lifetime of masking, people-pleasing, and surviving burnout cycles that always came back harder, I was finally diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. The relief of finally having language for why the world always felt too loud, too fast, and too much—was massive. But with it came grief, too. So much of my life was shaped by trying to survive in systems that were never built for me.
I’m a trained chef, and cooking was once a passion of mine—but the reality of kitchen work is brutal. High-stress environments, overstimulation, low pay, long hours, toxic hierarchies, and almost no room for rest or recovery. I now know that both AuDHD individuals and cooks have significantly elevated suicide rates. That overlap hit me hard.
I was heading down a dangerous path. So I made the most terrifying decision of my life: I stepped away.
Since then, I’ve been building a quieter, slower, and more sustainable life. One where I listen to my own rhythms. One where I can stop just surviving and start creating.
And that’s where The Lazy Mage Grimoire comes in.
It started as a recovery tool—a way to document what worked for me. But it’s grown into something so much bigger: a magical, neurodivergent-friendly guide for reclaiming energy, identity, and inner magic without burning out. It’s not about hustle. It’s about rest, insight, and small gentle rituals that work when your executive function doesn’t.
The Grimoire blends narrative fantasy, psychology, symbolism, and real-life survival strategies. It’s for anyone who’s felt too broken or too weird to fit into traditional self-help. It’s queer, witchy, a little eccentric, and deeply honest. And I believe it could help more people than just me.
Right now, I’m at a critical point. I’m behind on rent and need help staying housed while I finish this project and transition into a new life path centered around healing, writing, and service.
If you’ve ever been through burnout, or felt invisible in a system that doesn’t see your worth, I hope this resonates. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this means the world.
Thanks, sincerely
Andrew, the Lazy Mage
So Where Does the Money Go?
I am raising funds in order to stay housed and finance a book I am writing and designing, the "Lazy Mage Grimoire." I am currently working by myself, so funds would help cover printing proofs ($10-$30/book), prototypes, design and publishing tools ($100-$300), and paying bills while I work on my book. With enough interest, I could use the funds for :
*(Budget/Mid-Range/Premium)
Cover Design ($100-300/$500-800/$1500+)
Interior Design/Layout ($150-300/$500-800/$2000)
Illustrations ($100-500/$1000+/$2000+)
Editing ($300-600/$1000-2500/$3000+)
I’m not just asking for help—I’m offering a path to healing, creativity, and resilience. With your help, this Grimoire can become a lantern for others.

What the heck is a lazy mage?
"The Lazy Mage philosophy is about doing less of what drains you and more of what sustains you — not out of laziness, but out of wisdom."
Lazy Mages aren’t actually lazy — they’re selective. They understand that rest is fuel, not failure. That sometimes the best way forward is to pause, reflect, and listen inward before acting outward. At its core, it’s a mindset for people who feel overwhelmed, burned out, or out of sync with hustle culture. Instead of chasing productivity for its own sake, Lazy Mages learn to work with their own energy rhythms, lean into curiosity, and uncover the hidden magic in slowing down.
It’s about:
Rest as a form of resistance
Intuition as a compass
Creativity as nourishment
Boundaries as protection
Insight as power
You don’t need to be a wizard to live this way. You just need to believe that your well-being matters — and that your path doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
Imagine a spell book, dream journal, spirit coach, character creator, and a personalized self-care guide all in one.
The Grimoire is intended to act as living spell book to help people combat burnout and turn emotional chaos into clarity using self-inquiry, psychology, and symbolic systems that make healing feel like magic. It is my way of turning recovery into ritual, insight into incantation, and overthinking into observation.
I attempt to navigate burnout through arcane metaphor, self-inquiry, shadow work, cultural comparison, and a little bit of practical magic; it contains a fun fantasy narrative framework of magical metaphor that prompts the reader through their own personal journey into living life at their own pace.
Welcome to the Lazy Mage Grimoire.
Unlearn the grind, protect your peace, and follow your dreams.
Who am I?
I am a systems-oriented, creative, philosophical, and neurodivergent soul (AuDHD) with a degree in graphic design and special interests in storytelling, mysticism, the occult, linguistics, psychology, and self-care. I don’t do hustle culture. I do hauntings, healing, and the hidden.
I’m here to make the invisible visible—and help others do the same.
Thank you for getting this far! I hope you see as much potential value in this project as I do.
