VROOM VROOM: Help Emily Get Some Wheels!

They say good things come in threes. Well apparently, sometimes bad things do too.

If you're not already in the loop, the voice of our generation and light of our lives, Emily Dauer, has had a rough few months. First, she stood up to sketchy workplace practices at Pocket fm and was ultimately canned for asking for proper compensation. Then, over Thanksgiving she got appendicitis, only to find out it was in fact cancer. And now, her not-so-trusted-steed (the Subaru) has finally kicked the bucket.

Any one of these hurdles would drive a person mad. But no, not Emily, the world’s toughest trooper who’s soldiered on with 100% of her usual charm and wit and charisma intact. (Exhibit A: The Cancer Shirt)

Yet even the toughest of troopers need a hand. And that’s where we, her biggest fan club, come in.

We’d like to raise funds to help Emily with one of her most immediate needs: reliable transportation. Getting to and from her oncology appointments shouldn't be a logistical nightmare. While we'd love to go full Make-a-Wish mode and get her a brand new car, at the very least we want to give her a hefty Uber/Lyft gift card to make getting the care she needs slightly easier.

Better case scenario? We’d love to help Emily put a down payment on a used car and finally say sayonara to the dreaded Subaru.

We want to do this as privately as possible—out of respect for Emily and to keep this a nice surprise. So please, no public posts or social media—just good old-fashioned word of mouth and private texts.
