My name is Marissa and at this point I am fundraising for myself. I have a history of intestinal disease and pre cancerous colon polyps have been discovered in every colonoscopy I have had since I was 23. I am in need of surgery to rule out serious conditions on 10/11. The recovery window is 4-8 weeks. I am in an immense amount of pain everyday making it hard to do everyday things and show up mentally for my clients at work. I will not be able to work for 2 weeks after the surgery and since I am a contract worker, I won’t be paid for time off. My anxiety and depression have also worsened due to the financial burden this surgery has put on me. My insurance will not be covering this surgery. We have a high deductible plan and it is unfortunate. My husband is a teacher and I am a social worker. We help other people everyday and now we are struggling to pay my medical bills. I am in debt from a hospital visit in March as well for digestive issues. Anything is appreciated.
