Hannah's Hope
I hate asking for help, but a good friend has encouraged me to tell my story and accept the help I need so much.
I was diagnosed with gastroparesis less than 6 months ago after suffering vagus nerve damage during a surgery to remove my gallbladder.
Gastroparesis is a rare disorder that literally means "paralysis of the stomach." My stomach does not digest food. I have lost over 40 pounds in 6 months. I struggle with dehydration and malnutrition that makes frequent visits to the ER necessary.
I am currently impatient at a local hospital. The goal is to receive "supportive care" and stablize me enough to make it to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I have my first appointment with a team of specialists on July 5th. They have told me to be prepared to spend 2 weeks there while they run tests to figure out how to help me best.
I am raising funds for my treatment, the travel expenses, and medications. Thank you for any donation your able to make. I'll keep you posted on my hospital stay and Mayo visit.
