On Friday January 30th while leaving work Tom collapsed while suffering from a severe asthma attack. Unfortunately due to a lack of oxygen for a prolonged period of time Tom suffered severe brain damage. Surrounded by family he was disconnected from life support on Feb 3rd 2026.

Tom was well respected by his peers and served his coworkers by giving his time to fight for them as a Union Steward and Representative including being elected as Vice President of his Local Union. He also served on the Unions Social Committee organizing golf tournaments to donate the proceeds to members in need.

He was a strong advocate for the Westray Law that demands employers be held accountable for workplace deaths fearlessly speaking out about injustices in the workplace.

Tom's generosity continues to help others. His organs are being donated so other may live including matches that have already been found for transplant.
